Frankie Donovan finally settles down. With his girlfriend Kate and that little boy Alex, he finally has some kind of family. But things are far from perfect. The social services are after Alex since his drug-addict mom left him. Frankie, or FD as he calls him, is the closest thing to a father for Alex and he doesn't need another home. But the law says different things.
Two bodies have been found in a hotel room. Brutally killed, the two bodies of the lovers are found with a note. It seems that there is a serial killer on sight.
Getting on and on with the investigation, Frankie involves himself into a puzzle that seems it can not be solved. When the things get tough, friends are there for help, one particularly. That's all about: friendship, family, honor.
This is the third book in the series and the tension doesn't slow down at all. Usually the first book has that TA-DA effect, and then the others are slowing down. Not this time. The author keeps the tension to the very last page. This time Frankie has a family of his own and has to fight for it, but also is challenged to fight for his own life. Nicky tries to keep his family away from the things he has done. But when a friend is in trouble he forgets the peaceful life in the suburbia and does anything he can to help. And by anything, I mean anything. These two characters evolved from the first part of the series. They are more mature, have families and care for them, and of course are always there for each other, in good or bad. These two characters are so different but also very same.
Murder Takes Patience is a fast-pacing thriller full of adrenaline and emotions. The author keeps well the balance between the killing scenes and family life. One moment there is a murdering scene that lifts the adrenaline up, next one there is a family gathering that makes your emotions up and down. It keeps you on edge to the very last page.
MTP is part three of Friendship & Honor Series, but there is no reason why not to be read as stand-alone. Totally recommended for mystery and thriller lovers, and everyone else.
