Today is my stop of the blog tour of The Madam by Jaime Raven and must say it is my pleasure to review this book. It is the first book that comes from the writing pen of this author, and I hope it won't be the last. He has created a real female vigilante, a character that had to grow up and fight for herself too early in life.

Lizzie has spent last four years in prison for a murder she claims she never committed. She used to work as an escort and her customer has been murdered. His blood has been splattered all over her body and that was enough for the police to make her guilty. To make things worse, her little son dies of meningitis while she is serving her time in prison. But her time behind the bars is over. She comes out as a free woman and she doesn't wanna just settle down and enjoy the freedom. She wants justice! She wants the people responsible for her stitch-up! But can she prove her innocence?

Book Review: Murder Takes Time, by Giacomo Giammatteo

Detective Frankie Donovan is working on the case. Something about these murders "sucks". Something about these murders is very familiar. Something that brings back his memories to the time when he was a child. When three children, Nicky, Frankie and Tony were best friends. When friendship and honor were the most important thing in the world. Tony Sannullo now works for the Mafia, and Nicky has just come out of prison. Niccolo Fusco, otherwise known as "Nicky the Rat".

When DNA from the Frankie is found at the crime scene, he realizes that he is right. That someone from the past is taking revenge on him for something. But for what?

Frankie Donovan lives alone. His best friends are two neighborhood children whose parents do not care about them, so they practically live on street. Sometimes they find their shelter in Frankie’s home who cares for them as his own children.

Murder Takes Time is beautifully woven story. Story for three friends, three kids, for friendship and honor, for the family. Story of injustice and revenge. The author beautifully inserted detective story in the story of the growth of three best friends. Takes you through the investigation of the brutal murders, and goes back into the past describing the adventures of three small rascals. What’s the link, read it yourself. There are moments when you wonder what is the right justice, what is moral and what is not. Do some people deserve to die? This novel left me speechless. Great story.

After I was hooked on Harry Hole series, I couldn't put this book down. It's even better than the first one. 

Three different stories, no one seems to see the connection. Twists around every corner. With every single page it makes you ask yourself what is going to happen next. The story with the gypsies from the Balkans is very well plotted. The robberies, the death of the former girlfriend, the gypsies , the author made an excellent connection. 

The title, "Nemesis", means revenge. Symbolic title.  In Anna's place there is an artistic piece, a statue named "Nemesis".

Who is revenging to who?
