Wow! It literally left me breathless. And speechless. With my jaw dropped. I definitely didn't expect that kind of outcome. I love this book!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
The plot is centred around Zoe Whittaker, a young woman, a wife to a very wealthy man. From outside, her life looks like a fairytale. A modern time Cinderella. A poor girl, a middle-class worker who finds her Prince Charming and leaves her previous life to live with the rich and famous. But when you scratch the surface, you see a different picture. Zoe is not Zoe. Zoe is Hilary, a person who used to use and sell drugs, a victim of kidnapping, a witness in a human trafficking case who is in the witness protection program. A person who was raised by an adoptive mother, Evelyn, who died a couple of years ago because of cancer. With no money to bury her at the time, Zoe is full of regret not being able to do something for the mother she loved. She is also in the search of her biological mother, Carolyn, and all she has is a birth certificate with possible false information. All she has now is her husband Henry who adores her and showers her with gifts but seems a little bit possessive from time to time. But aren't all the men like that?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Then, one day, a car almost hits her. She nearly dies. Soon after that, the apartment has been robbed. A normal person would never connect those two events. But not Zoe. With all the skeletons in her closet, she has every right to be scared for her life.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Is her past finally after her?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Are the people she testified against out of jail?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Or maybe something more is going on?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
The events that follow she couldn't dream even in her worst nightmare!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
The Vanishing Year literally left me speechless! From the very beginning, the story seemed to go in one direction, than to turn over into something very different. I didn't see that coming! Unpredictable till the last page! I liked the author's writing style and the way she captivated me into the story. I liked Zoe's character and the way she handled all the things that happened in her life. What a fighter! I'll be definitely in the search of the other books from this author. Totally recommended!</div>

<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
From the very beginning, the author throws you into a very scary situation. Two people, husband and wife, parents, are in the search of their kidnapped daughter after they paid the ransom. Only to find their daughter's lifeless body. A couple of hours later, while giving the statement in the police station, the father of the kidnapped girl collapses and dies from heart attack. The mother loses her daughter and her husband in a very same day.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Detective Sergeant Kay Hunter works on the case. Together with Detective Constable Ian Barnes, they have to solve this very unique case of kidnapping and murdering a young teenage girl. Melanie has been kidnapped while her parents were on vacation, so no one knew she was missing for a couple of days. The investigation showed that this girl was no flower, she was a bully and many of the other students didn't like her.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Was someone who was bullied by Melanie taking the revenge?</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Did she deserve to die?</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
This is my first book from Rachel Amphlett, but boy, won't be the last. To the very last moment, I had no idea was it a serial killer, a personal revenge that went wrong or cover-up for something bigger. There were points of view of everyone involved in the kidnapping, including all the culprits. There was an introduction of the killer from the beginning, but till the last page I had no idea was he the mastermind or just a puppet. There were turnovers on every corner and I couldn't predict anything.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
I liked the personal touch of DS Kay Hunter's life. She suffered a miscarriage sometime ago and coped with the pain together with her loving husband. She has a mother and a sister, but their relationship is not going in the direction it should be going. They simply don't understand her. The only person who is on her side is her husband, he is her standing rock.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Scared to Death is grippy, fast-paced, thrilling, crime novel. It will keep you on the edge from the very first page until the last. I loved it and I hope you will. If you ask me about a recommendation, totally recommended!</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: small;"><i><b>Why crime fiction? By Marnie Riches</b></i></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I have read crime fiction and thrillers sporadically but with great enthusiasm since my childhood, plundering my mother’s copies of Harold Robbins <span style="font-size: small;"><i>A Stone for Danny Fisher</i></span> and Peter Benchley’s <span style="font-size: small;"><i>Jaws</i></span> at the tender age of about ten. It was never unusual for me to read something quite adult and thrilling as a child, alongside more traditional age-appropriate fare of C.S. Lewis’ <span style="font-size: small;"><i>Narnia</i></span> books. My reading choices were never censored, thankfully. </span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"></span></div>
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">For many years, however, after having been compelled to read a lot of classic German and Dutch tomes for my studies, favourite stories that I read for pleasure included fantasy (yep, I’m down with the Hobbitses, precious), a plethora of commercial women’s novels (Jackie Collins featured heavily, I must confess) and a lot of the literary, feminist novels that Virago published in the 1990s. I got heavily into children’s fiction too, as it provided delightful escapism as well as a very high standard of writing.</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Small wonder, then, that when I started writing seriously in my mid-thirties – I had two children by then – I chose to write children’s fiction initially. But without realising, the influence of crime thrillers was always in evidence when I wrote. First, I polished a novelisation of a 12th-century<span style="font-size: small;"></span> epic Dutch poem about Charlemagne the Great, that I had first drafted as a 20-year-old at university, hoping to turn it into a historical YA thriller. There was murder, betrayal and intrigue a-aplenty. Then, I wrote a middle grade crime thriller about the young Miss Marple, who was actually a twelve-year-old girl from Huddersfield, investigating alien sightings in the remote West Yorkshire countryside. In fact, pretty much everything I wrote for children was page-turning with a mystery at its heart. But it wasn’t enough and though I had a six books in a children’s historical fiction series – Time-Hunters – published under a pseudonym of Chris Blake, my own children’s fiction wasn’t getting picked up by editors. Why? I think I was writing the wrong thing! Children’s fiction is funny and fast-paced and compelling, but it wasn’t bloody enough, it wasn’t sweary enough, it wasn’t gritty enough for my tastes.</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: small;"><i>The Girl Who Wouldn’t Die</i></span> was itching to get out of me. It was the pinnacle of my literary aspirations to write a complex crime thriller with multiple plot strands that tied together in a satisfying way by the end. Georgina McKenzie’s first story evolved from a short story I had written about an incident that had happened to me as a teen – where my mother and I were petrol bombed by violent kids on our council estate. Everything clicked into place quickly once I realised that short story had to grow into something longer and more challenging. I realised I was steeped in crime. I had grown up surrounded by it. I had grown up reading it. I was destined to write it.</span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Now, as the fourth George McKenzie novel is published – <span style="font-size: small;"><i>The Girl Who Had No Fear</i></span> – I realise that though I may love the odd foray into writing women’s fiction and/or humour, crime fiction is my calling. For me as a writer, there is no other story-telling platform that offers the opportunity to examine social issues, world politics and the psychology behind human behaviours in quite such depth. I can create a puzzle for my readers to solve. It’s such a wonderfully reciprocal and symbiotic relationship between author and reader. And I get to swear and pronounce judgement on some really nasty characters too! What fun it is to be a crime writer. I am truly blessed.</span><br />

A triple murder in a brothel. Two female prostitutes and one male client. The bodies look horrible. One of the women has been tortured. Someone needed an information. But one of the women is not there. The third prostitute somehow has managed to escape. She is an undercover police officer. Her name is DS Bridget Reid.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Back in the police station, DS Imogen Grey is working on the case. A police officer with a lousy personal life and skeletons in the closet. Imogen has grown up with a single mother and no knowledge of her father. Her mother has a psychological disorder and never allows anyone to help her. Also never talks about her past.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Imogen's investigation takes her on a journey in the world of prostitution and human trafficking. Looking for the missing undercover police officer, she will stumble upon the secrets that were never meant for her to discover. She'll go deep down in the world of mafia and human trafficking, just to dig out some secrets that were never supposed to be dug out. Secrets of her own existence. In the world of the mafia, there are certain rules that have to be followed, but there are also no rules for some people. And some people can never escape, no matter what they do.</div>

I haven't read the previous book from this author, The Teacher, but that didn't stop me from enjoying this book. I know that the two books are connected, but The Secret can perfectly stand alone. I loved every page of it and I hope you will love it too. It is a fast-pacing psychological thriller that won't let you leave it until you finish it. It is my first book from Mrs. Diamond, but definitely won't be the last. I liked the writing style and the characters with all their ups and downs. Totally recommended!</div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<i>Source: Won</i></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
The story starts with a teenage girl coming home brought by the police. Sophie has no memory of the previous night and has a hangover. But very soon there is news about one of her friends dead. Killed. Murdered. Making things even more strange, there are emails with photos on her phone. Photos of her friend 's body, photos of herself in the same room. Is she involved in her friends' murder?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Sophie's mother is very worried about her daughter. Karen suffers from agoraphobia and is too afraid to go outside the house. She feels that way since she was attacked by a serial rapist in her own car. Nothing is same since then.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
The story is told from three points of view. Sophie's, Karen's and DI Wade's. Sophie has her own view, being a seventeen-year-old, her mother who suffered an attack has her own fears for her and her child, and the detective has a unique case to solve. No one is talking, no one is telling the truth, everyone is hiding something.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Is it over with that murder? Or there are more to follow? Is it some kind of personal revenge or is it a serial killer. And why is Sophie followed? Is she the next victim?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Sam Carrington is a brand new author and this is her first book. She has written a unique plot that ends in a very unexpected way. Every page there is new turn-over that takes the reader in a different direction. I liked the writing and liked the characters. We can see the personality of every character, their psychological description and their feelings are written very carefully and with plenty emotions. And most of it, I liked the way the story ended, it left me with my jaw dropped. I definitely didn't expect that kind of ending. Very good job for a debut author!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
My opinion: 4 / 5.</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
In the story, we meet Sergeant Schaefer, a former soldier. A person who decides to take a weapon in his arms and declare war, to mother nature. It is very obvious that he is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. He has been in a psychiatric hospital for a while and he has escaped from there. He sees his enemies everywhere. Anyone is his enemy.</div>

<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
When I was accepted to review this short story, I had no idea what to expect. It seemed like an interesting and thrilling short story. Adrenalin-packed, it reminded me a little bit of the story for Rambo. Too bad it was only a short story. I really think that it would be a great novel. Short stories always seem to me little bit unfinished. It took me for a while to figure out what was really going on in Schaefer's head, but then I felt really sorry for the guy.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Overall, it is a little bit different than the books I read. It is well written, an adrenaline-packed short story that won't take you more than half hour of your time. It definitely deserves a try.</div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
How to explain the unexplainable?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
A murder happens on the streets. And another one. DNA is found among other evidence. Matches a criminal who is behind the bars. There was no way he could escape. How could he commit the murders? Is he guilty for the crimes that put him in prison in the first place?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Detective Jessica Daniel works on the case. It is the most difficult case for her ever. Someone is killing the bad guys on the streets. The press calls him „Vigilante“. But murder is a murder and someone has to be guilty. The man whose DNA matches the evidence is in prison and there is no way he could escape. So how his DNA is found at the crime scene? Can two people have same DNA? There is no history of siblings for the suspected prisoner. Is someone messing with the evidence in the lab?</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
With a little help from Adam from the lab, Jessica has to stop the murders. This case brings these two people together and romance is on the sight. Jess works like a robot all the time, with no personal life and having someone like Adam in her life softens her tough side and makes her more human. I liked her as a character, even if sometimes she was getting on my nerves. But I definitely liked Adam, the shy, introvert guy who takes care of his elderly grandmother.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
A big plus for the story is the unpredictable ending. The plot reminded me of an old movie, I can't remember the title, and there were moments when I really taught that it was the same plot and same ending. So glad I was wrong! I loved the fast-paced gripping story and will expect this author's books in future. I recommend this book! <br />

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<i>Source: Bought</i></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
The Sister is my very first book from Louise Jensen. I was hearing a lot about this book and decided to give it a try.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
The story centres around Grace and her friendship with Charlie. There is Grace in the past when she arrived to live with her grandparents and meets Charlie for the very first time. Also, there is Grace in the present, who suffers from the loss of her best friend and tries to fix things right. Grace in the past has a skeleton in the closet and feels guilty about it. And Charlie is always there to make things easier for her. They even bury a little box to open up when they grow up. But year after year, Charlie becomes strange and distant. She also tries to find her biological father. But her sudden death stops her. Years later, Grace feels guilty for Charlie's death and decides to do something in her memory. Grace decides to find Charlie's father. Instead of her father, she finds her sister. A young woman who claims to be the daughter of the man who is Charlie's father. Grace welcomes her into her home and tries to find in her the sister she lost when Charlie died.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
But is Ana the person who she claims to be? Is she really Charlie's long lost sister and can she replace her in Grace's heart? What are her true intentions?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Grace's life is turned upside down, again.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
The two stories of Grace are well mixed and well-incorporated one into another. Step by step, the author reveals the reason for Grace's depression and the reason for Charlie's sudden death. The story was thrilling and kept me up till the very last page. I wanted to find out what really happened.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
But I've found two things strange: Grace feels guilty about anyone and anything, and when the true identity of Ana is revealed, the reason why she isn't with her real family. I didn't find much sense here, but overall, it didn't bother me to like the story. There were moments when I felt sorry for Grace and must say I wouldn't choose her as my favourite character.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Overall, The Sister is a good psychological thriller and the author did a good job. Considering it is her debut, she had a great idea and she connected the two stories very well. I liked her writing and I expect to read more of her storytelling in future.</div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Here we are! Book number five and still not enough! How does she do it?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Blood Lines is the fifth book in the DI Kim Stone series. And Angela Marsons did it again! I still can't get enough of her books. With every book next in the row, the author makes me more and more addictive to her writing. I absolutely love her books.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
This time, Kim Stone's arch enemy is back. Alex Thorne is in prison, but she still feels like the puppet master and has a plan: to destroy Kim Stone. She plays with human minds, she knows which buttons to push. Anything to get what she needs.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Kim and Bryant have a tough case to solve. A woman has been killed, probably a robbery went wrong. But everything is there, every piece of jewellery, every single pound in the wallet. Who wanted the murder to look like a robbery?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
But when a young girl, a local drug addict, is killed the same way, Kim knows that these two cases are connected. Nothing connects the two victims, except the way they were killed. Are these killings work of a serial killer?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
In the very same time, Kim's private life turns upside down. Her mother has been in a mental hospital for years since she killed Kim's little brother. Now, Kim receives a note that her mother is going to be released. Her behaviour has been very much improved since Kim started to send her letters full of forgiveness. But Kim hasn't sent a single piece of paper. What the hell is going on?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Wow! If I have to explain this book with one word, it would be WOW! If I have to explain this book with three words, they would be OH MY GOD! I can't stop reading till finishing it! It is fifth in the series and I still can't get enough of it. I have no idea where the author finds the inspiration and the energy for so many books for such a short time, but she is amazing. Angela Marsons definitely knows her job and knows how to keep your hair stand on the neck till the very last page.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
What to say more?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
READ THE BOOK! I TOTALLY RECOMMEND IT!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
My opinion: 5 / 5.</div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Lawless and the Flowers of Sin is the second novel in the series, but it can definitely stand alone. It is my first book from this author, so I am not familiar with his writing style.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
The plot is set in Victorian London, in 1863. Inspector Campbell Lawless goes into the world of the people that we see every day, but we don't notice them at all. Beggars, street musicians, ladies in brothels, erotic booksellers, each one of them walks among us, but we don't see them. Or we choose not to see. But these people are alive and have stories to tell. Stories of their hard lives, destroyed dreams, broken wings.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
The story is told from inspector's point of view. He is in the search of a missing person, tries to find the sellers of the forbidden erotic books, helps his favorite lady of the night to escape from the life she has. His investigation is full of emotional stories of destroyed lives of the people who live on the streets of London. Lawless is fascinated by their strength to survive and move on no matter what.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
I liked the setting in Victorian London, liked the mystery and the detective himself. The lives of the prostitutes were described very vividly, their destinies were so emotional. Some of them were sold as young girls, some were slaves, some had debts to pay, some had children to feed. The life on the streets in Victorian London was no different than the one today.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
What I didn't like here was the writing style. The chapters weren't well connected and the story was jumping from one plot to another. I didn't like the dialogues, the conversations weren't fluid. What seemed like a great book from the blurb, it turned out to be a very difficult story to read (at least for me). There were moments when I couldn't figure out what the main character was trying to do: find the missing person, help a prostitute, destroy or save the banned erotic books. I couldn't find the point of the story. It seemed to me like a bunch of events just thrown in to fill the blank space. Believe me, I am not trying to offend anyone here, just trying to say what I think. This is just my opinion.</div>

</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Conrad Williams is a brand new author to me, and when I started reading his book, I didn't know what to expect. This is his second book in the series but definitely can stand alone.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
The main character is Joel Sorell, a private investigator who is still recovering from the physical and emotional injuries in the past. He hasn't seen his daughter for years, not knowing if she is missing or she is just running away from him.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
The story starts with a murder, very brutal murder. But what is very unusual and out of ordinary, is the dead man's surrounding. Pages of typewritten text covered with blood and explicit photos of a young woman. A woman who is missing. Joel Sorrell's daughter. The detective who is in charge of the case recognises Sorrell's daughter on the photos and contacts him. But Sorrell is definitely not in charge of the case. So, the private investigator starts his own research to find the killer and most important to him, to find his daughter. The investigation takes him to the members of an underground group called The Accelerants, people who might be musicians, writers, or killer's next victims. Or murderers.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
As I mentioned previously, this is my first book from this author. His main character, Joel Sorrell, is a real anti-hero. He doesn't care because of the murders, nor the victims, but his own daughter. He tries to calm down his consciousness, doesn't want to think that he's been a lousy father. The whole story didn't disappoint me, but also didn't impress me very much. The thriller part is done properly and overall the story is ok. But the beginning was far more interesting than the ending, and that's why I am rating it with three and half stars.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
My opinion: 3,5 / 5.</div>

Hello, fellow readers. Today's post won't be about book reviews, but book characters. I always admire strong main characters and this time I am going to talk about my favorite female detectives.</div>
<h4 style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></h4>
<h4 style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Angela Marsons' Kim Stone</h4>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4V_24Bt8w7Y/VkItRTd8FpI/AAAAAAAAA4U/zfwKExS7IBgTnLwaMW59qmd_PAV085WTACPcB/s1600/26123233.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4V_24Bt8w7Y/VkItRTd8FpI/AAAAAAAAA4U/zfwKExS7IBgTnLwaMW59qmd_PAV085WTACPcB/s320/26123233.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Angela Marsons is less than two years on the writer's stage and she has already established herself as one of the top crime authors not just in the country, but even worldwide. Her main character in the series is Kim Stone, a detective who you don't wanna mess with.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
D.I.Kim Stone is well described as a leading character. She is tough but also has a wild and also a soft side. She lives alone with no family but has a passion for motorbikes, which is unusual for a woman. Life was hard for her, and she built a wall around her feelings, but those same feelings sometimes find their way to rise on the surface.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
With every other book in the series, Kim Stone is more than an anti-hero. We can peek into her past and see why is she the way she is. We can see the reasons that made her built the walls around her, but in the same time, we can see those walls breaking. But the disappearance of the walls doesn't make her vulnerable as she thinks. No, it makes her more human, it finally brings her emotions on the surface. In the first book, the author added a child with an illness. The second time, she added a dog. Man's best friend. Next, it is a criminal who is as much as smart as she is, a villain who pushes the right buttons. But Kim Stone is a fighter, a badass warrior whose buttons can not be pushed that easily. Kim Stone is one of my favorite characters, and can't wait to read about her next adventure.</div>
<h4 style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<a name='more'></a><br /></h4>
<h4 style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Hugh Fraser's Rina Walker</h4>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Whenever I hear the name Hugh Fraser, the very first thing that pops up in my mind is his very famous role of Captain Hastings from my favorite TV series „Hercules Poirot“. I was so delighted when I heard that he has written a book. But HARM is nothing like HERCULES POIROT series. So who ever expected a new Agatha Christie's novel must be very surprised. I am not using the word 'disappointed“ because this book is far away from disappointing.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<span style="color: black;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
Rina, modern, and beautiful woman with faces, a contract killer, a death angel. She is a stunning woman, and men often mistake her beauty for stupidity. But she is far away from stupid. Most of everything, she is tough and knows how to survive. Life hasn't been easy for her. Men took advantages on her since young age. They still do, but now she lets them do that, and that's how she uses them.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Rina kills people for money, but she kills bad people, not just anyone. She has a sense of justice. She would never hurt an innocent person, enough harm has been done to her. It all started when she was a teenager. Her father's business partner rapes her many times. But when he tries to rape her nine-years-old sister, she kills him. His brother blackmails her, she has to murder another person for him. One act of violence triggers another one, one murder leads to another. In the world of gangs where local mafia rules the neighborhood, there is no going back.</div>
</span><div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<span style="color: black;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
The author has created a real kick-ass heroine. On one side, she kills people for money and she fights like hell when trapped. On the other side, she is in the search of little peace for herself far away from man's violence. 'Cause she has had it enough. She fights not just for her, but for every abused woman that comes along her way.</div>

<h4>
Marnie Riches' Georgina McKenzie</h4>
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0MaWXTEGKiI/VfGhvGN06kI/AAAAAAAAA0Q/rvP-MRB9o5EmLYzh13i2GFM5EQQNr1CZACPcB/s1600/51fhOzq1RNL._SX326_BO1%252C204%252C203%252C200_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0MaWXTEGKiI/VfGhvGN06kI/AAAAAAAAA0Q/rvP-MRB9o5EmLYzh13i2GFM5EQQNr1CZACPcB/s320/51fhOzq1RNL._SX326_BO1%252C204%252C203%252C200_.jpg" width="210" /></a></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Marnie Riches has created one of a kind character when created the book series #TheGirlWho. I've read two of them and already put them on my top recommendation list. George is not a police officer but often helps with the hard cases. She is a black woman in Amsterdam who studies human psychology and that helps her to find out more about the twisted criminal human mind. Detective Paul van der Bergen often calls her for help. The relationship between van den Bergen and George is constantly on-off. She has a boyfriend, Ad, but she has a crush on van den Bergen and he has a crush on her. There is chemistry, definitely, but also many unanswered questions between them. Each one of them lives in his/hers own bubble, not letting the other one in. But, the differences between them are getting smaller and this relationship is definitely going somewhere. McKenzie and van der Bergen are one hell of a duo. Georgina is a stubborn young woman who doesn't take no for an answer, and that is an attitude that pushes her harder into solving hardcore crimes, which makes her a great future detective and crime solver.</div>

Robert Bryndza's Erica Foster</h4>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I was familiar with the Robert Bryndza's chick lit books while being a part of This Chick Reads team. When I heard that he wrote a crime book, I assumed it was chick lit cozy mystery story. I never expected The Girl In The Ice! And after finishing the book, all I can say is WOW!</div>
<span style="color: black;"><div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Girl in the Ice is first in the series. It starts with the death of a young and very beautiful woman. DCI Erika Foster is assigned to lead the case. She is one of the best officers in the police department. Originally assigned on the case because of her Slovakian background (victim's mother is Slovakian also) she takes the things in her own hands and stubbornly grabs every lead that can take her to the real justice. At the beginning, it seems that Andrea's murder is a unique case, but soon it turns out that some Eastern European young women died in the same way. Is there a connection? Is there a serial killer on the sight?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
While trying to bring the real killer to the justice, Erika tries to cope with her own pain. She recently loses her husband, a police officer who dies in action, right in front of her. She misses him every day, and she tries to dismiss out of her head the image of him bleeding to death. Her job is the only thing she has now, and she sticks to it. Her sense of justice and moral is very high, she won't stop until she brings the real culprit in front of the justice. And she wants justice for all, all the women who died strangled and tortured, no matter if they are prostitutes or rich and spoiled kids.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Robert Bryndza creates a great main character that can lead many cases in future. A woman with a great sense of justice and too much pain in her personal life. I am so glad that he includes Eastern European characters in his story. And after a start like this, I expect to see DCI Erika Foster in several future book series (there are three so far).</div>

Paul Finch's Lucy Clayburn</h4>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Paul Finch is a very new author to me and when I started reading Strangers, I didn't know what to expect. But, his main character, Lucy Clayburn earned my respect from the very first page.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
PC Lucy Clayburn has to live with the skeletons in her closet. Some time ago, a convicted murderer escaped while handcuffed to her. She almost got killed then and the entire operation failed. But Lucy loves being a copper and since then she desperately tries to prove to herself and others that she is a good cop.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Soon, Lucy becomes part of an undercover operation. The team is called The Ripper Chicks. Several policewomen go undercover among prostitutes and the English underworld in order to find the person responsible for several killings. The victims are all men, so the police assume that the killer might be a woman, possibly a prostitute who offers her services to men.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
But nothing prepares Lucy for the things that she is going to find among the people from the underground.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Lucy is one hell of a character. She loves her job, loves solving the crimes and putting the bad guys behind bars. She makes mistakes, but she is brave enough to start all over again. She is a kind person, she would never ever leave someone behind or let someone be killed in order to save herself. She has some rules in her life, and she sticks to them, what makes her an amazing person.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Those are my top five female book characters. Do you agree with me? Or have other favorite female book characters, women who are fighters? Feel free to comment. I would like to hear your opinion. </div>

Lauren Beck is back! This time with a family issue to solve. A cancer survivor with no place to live, Lauren sets up on her brother's farm together with his family. And then, her brother's wife, Karen, survives a tragedy. Her brother has committed a suicide. But Karen knows her brother well, and she knows that he would never ever do that. So she asks Lauren to help.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Together with Karen's other brother, Lauren goes to the funeral. She makes up a cover story, just to make sure that she can sneak into the lion's den and find out what really happened. Something isn't right here. Why would someone who recently got married and expects the first child commit a suicide? Even if all the evidence says the obvious, Lauren is not satisfied. Something fishy is going on here!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
This is the second book in the series, a story that follows Lauren Beck as a private investigator who solves the crimes committed in her own family. She has clients as a private investigator, but very often tragedies happen in her family, tragedies that are very suspicious and need to be investigated. This time, the mystery part is more developed and more intriguing, what makes the story more interesting to read. On the other side, Lauren's cover story for the funeral doesn't seem to me very plausible. Who brings the mistress on the brother's funeral where all the family is present? You don't show your mistress to your family, but that is just my opinion.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Overall, I liked the story. The suicide investigation is well developed with many twists around the corner. I enjoyed reading this light mystery, even when there were moments when things weren't that light.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
My opinion: 4 / 5.<br />

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Hi, guys. Today is my stop for the blog tour of the gripping read written by Paul Finch. Strangers is one hell of a read, full of adrenaline and I believe that there isn't even a single page that doesn't make the hair on your neck stand.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
PC Lucy Clayburn has to live with the skeletons in her closet. Four years ago, a convicted murderer escaped while handcuffed to her. She almost got killed then and the entire operation failed. But Lucy loves being a copper and since then she desperately tries to prove to herself and others that she is a good cop.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
And the opportunity arrives....</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
A man has been killed. Alone, in the woods, mutilated. The police connect the case with some previous cases where other men were killed and also mutilated. Everything points to a serial killer.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
But what if the serial killer is a woman?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Lucy becomes part of an undercover operation. The team is called The Ripper Chicks. Several policewomen go undercover among prostitutes and the English underworld in order to find the person responsible for the killings. The victims are all men, so the police assume that the killer might be a woman, possibly a prostitute who offers her services to men.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Lucy Clayburn goes undercover. But nothing prepares her for the things that she is going to find among the people from the underworld.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
When I started reading Strangers, I didn't know what to expect. A serial killer, a detective, but this is more than that. The story throws you in the underworld where mafia rules, where people are killed for nothing, where there are no rules. Every page is adrenaline filled, there is a twist around every corner. Full packed with action and tension , this read won't let you sleep at night. At least until you finish reading it.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
My opinion: 4 / 5.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
I've been reading my entire life, as long as I remember. My mother used to say that could read my neighbor's first-grade book when I was only three years old. When I was a kid, my mom used to buy me children's books with animals. I read them all by myself, I didn't need any help. I still have Grimm brothers' stories somewhere in my basement. I've been always fascinated by the storytelling and always imagined myself in the story.</div>

<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
As I grew older, my reading habit didn't diminish at all. I believe I was the only kid that had several pages long list of borrowed books from the school library. I wasn't much into sport's activities, my spare time was always spent with a book. It happened sometimes to borrow the same book twice, just because I forgot that I've read it before, or because there was a new edition with a different cover.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Agatha Christie was my favorite, I've read most of her books and seen most of the tv series made after her novels. Along with Poirot, I also loved Sherlock. Same thing about tv series here. Books and tv shows with police procedurals were and still are my number one choice for having a good time.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Then there was a site called <a href="http://www.sakamknigi.mk/">www.sakamknigi.mk</a>. It means „I love books“. Everyone could write a review for his/hers favorite book. If the review was well written, it was published. There I wrote my first review. I had several published reviews there. The more important thing is, I met many friends there, people who also loved books, people who are also bloggers now, people that I can always talk about books and everything else.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Then, <a href="http://www.chicklibrarycat.blogspot.com/">www.chicklibrarycat.blogspot.com</a> was created. My very own blog about books. At first, I reviewed the books that I absolutely loved and already had in my home library. Discovering <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/">www.goodreads.com</a> , I discovered paranormal and young adult. A literature genre that can not be found in school libraries, at least not then when I went to school. I loved the magic in the stories, the image of the bad boys and girls and tattoos. Along with the crime genre, I've reviewed a lot of paranormal stuff.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Then, a friend of mine proposed me a partnership in reviewing chick lit books. She just created <a href="http://www.thischickreads.com/">www.thischickreads.com</a> . And I said; „Why not?“. I love feel good books, happily ever after books, comfort food books. I still read them, now and then. We had a great partnership, reviewed lots of chick lit books and even if we don't blog together anymore, we still drink coffee together sometimes and talk about everything.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
My true loves in the world of books were and still are mysteries, crime stories, psychological thrillers, police procedurals. I want to guess who has done it, who is the killer, what are the clues. I love the tension, the unpredictability of the story, the rush of the adrenaline while reading the book. I am a huge fan of Scandinavian crime noir, there are several authors there whose books I absolutely adore. I also love the tv shows and movies that belong to these genres. The Bridge, The Blacklist, Midsomer Murders, you name it. I've also seen most of James Bond movies. As long as it has a dead body and a detective or a spy, I am in it! And love to write about it!</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<br />
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Now, <a href="http://www.chicklibrarycat.blogspot.com/">www.chicklibrarycat.blogspot.com</a> reviews only crimes and thrillers. No more paranormal, no more chick lit. I read those genres now and then, but no more reviewing. Focusing on my favorite genre, I believe it is best for the blog itself and me as a reviewer. I have some plans for the future, and will notify you when those plans come true. I want a little bit of a mystery right now. </div>

Lauren Beck is finally cancer free. But her friend and supporter during chemotherapy didn't have that luck. Corrinne dies from cancer. Corrinne's daughter blames Lauren for her mother's death. She accuses her of mixing up the drugs in order causing euthanasia, just to stop her suffering. Even worse, she kicks her out from her house.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
In the very same time, strange things start to happen. Someone is stealing Lauren's identity. No more money on her credit cards, canceled payments, unknown debts, Lauren never did anything of this. She suspects Corrine's daughter but is no sure about anything. And Corrinne's death, what if someone is responsible for her death?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Lauren is a former police officer, now works as a private investigator. With her identity stolen and no place to live, she has to swallow her pride and count on the people who aren't her best friends. But most of it, she has to find out what really happened to her friend. She knows she didn't do anything, but what if someone did? This time, she has to use her investigation skills and save people's lives, including her own. 'Cause someone is after her!</div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
I loved the plot and loved the main character. The story has a couple of mysteries in it and until the last page, you have no idea if they are connected or not. As a pharmacist by myself, I enjoyed this drug-related mystery. It is a light read, even if it has some hard subjects in it. Cancer and identity stealing are never easy and light, but this author made the story interesting to read and perfect for a weekend chill-out with a good book.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
And because today is World Pharmacist Day, I decided to publish this review today. The story includes drugs, medications, pharmaceutical mafia, and I think it is perfect for this day. Happy World Pharmacist Day!</div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Well, it's been a while since I've read that big book. Seriously, it took me three weeks to finish it. But, believe me, it was worth. I enjoyed it, and would recommend it to anyone who loves old-school mysteries.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Let me tell you something about the plot. One story runs in the present , one goes back in time when the year is 1452. The story in the present, follows Jaqueline Quartermane, Jaq to her friends, who works for the State Department. She is engaged to Paul who works in Ethiopia and dies on a mission. But when Jaq goes to pick up his body as his fiance, she finds very strange things going on. The investigation of his death takes her on a journey that no one can ever imagine, something that can shake the whole world as we know it. And some people might not like it. The origin of Christianity, the discovery of America, do we know the real story behind the facts that are written in history books? Can we trust the bible itself?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Parallelly with Jaq's research, there is another story that starts in 1452, in Portugal. The story follows three young boys, three friends, who will change the human history forever. Pero de Coviglia, Salvador Fernandez Zarco and Bartolomeo Dias are three young men all of a different background, whose destiny will join them together to defend the Christianity from the Christians themselves. The life and the circumstances will take them on a journey that will make the history far different from the way we know it today. These three people are not in the history books , but their names shall never be forgotten.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
What I really liked here in the book was the ending itself. No, I am not putting spoiler in the review! I won't reveal the end. But I hate Hollywood endings. A kickass main character kills all the bad guys, long speech just before the final act of the last battle....etc. No, you won't see that here. That's why I loved this book. Hope there will be more from this author in the future.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
If you are a fan of conspiracy theories, riddles, and crosswords, this is the perfect read for you. This is a story where Indiana Jones meets Da Vinci Code. Not sure if anyone has said this before, but I had to say it. If you love adventures and never get tired of history lessons, this is the read that you'll enjoy to the very last page. It is a quite long read, but it is far from boring. I've never seen a fictional character like Jaq. But when you meet her, you have to love her. Join her on the journey that will change the human history from the very beginning of the Christianity till today.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
I have to say it! This is one of the best psychological thrillers I've read lately!It literally left me with my mouth open. I started reading with no big expectations, but the story grabbed my attention and I finished it within one day.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
What would you do to save your child? Are you capable of killing someone to protect your child? Many people think that you have to have something dark inside of you in order to kill someone. But what if they are wrong?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Anna is a mother of a baby daughter. She works as a radio presenter and still recovers from the recent divorce. One day she takes her daughter for a walk and a schoolboy attacks her. At least she thinks so. When the boy approaches her very violently, the mother's instinct rises in her and she tries to defend her baby. The only thing she has is a comb in her hand. And when the boy suddenly falls on her, she slices his artery with the sharp edge of the comb and literary kills him.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Does that act make her a killer?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
The very next day it's all over the news. Some people think of her as a protective mother who tried to protect her child, some people think of her as a ruthless killer. The boy has no history of violence and it is hard to believe her story that she and her baby have been attacked.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
The most strange thing that happens is an email she receives from the so-called Ophelia Killer. It brings her back in her childhood when her father has been working on a case. Anna's father was a journalist who investigated a case of several murders of young boys. All of them had dark hair and blue eyes (just like the boy who attacked Anna) and were found in ponds covered with flowers. Because of the similarities with the antique legend for Ophelia, the killer of the boys was named The Ophelia Killer. The case was too disturbing for Anna's father and he killed himself. The murders stopped.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Why now? And how is this boy connected with the Ophelia murders?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Who sends the emails?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Autopsy shows digoxin in boy's blood, just like twenty years ago. What did Anna stumble upon? Does she really have a dark side?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Just like I mentioned at the beginning, this is one of the best thrillers I've read lately. Don't worry, I didn't reveal too much. It was just the beginning. The story is a real rollercoaster that will take you on the most gripping journey ever! Once you start reading, there is no turning back!</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
My opinion: 5 / 5.</div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
I read books as long as I remember. I love books. And it really bothers me when I search for a certain title and more than twenty books with similar title appear. Or when I remember the cover of the book I love and suddenly see the same cover on a different book. Just because I love books, I must tell about the five things that I hate when reading a book.<br />
<br />
<br />
<h4>
<ul>
<li>Same (or almost same) titles</li>
</ul>
</h4>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Do you know that there are more than 30 versions of the title „50 Shades of Grey“, and they are all different books? Do you know that there are more than 20 different books that include „The Girl...“ in the title? Authors, please. You are creative enough to write a story. Be creative enough to create a unique name for your baby. You don't want someone to copy your work. So why would you copy somebody else's, just because it is famous and sounds catchy? You don't want someone to buy some other book thinking it is yours, and this happens lots of times. It is not reader's fault.</div>

It is ok if you miss a letter or two, but grammatic errors and misspelled words are big NO if you want your book to be taken seriously. Even I make some mistakes when writing posts because English is not my first language, but I check my posts at least three times before hitting the button „publish“. Bad editing can be really annoying for the reader, and miss the whole point of the story.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<h4>
<ul>
<li>Bad translation</li>

<ol start="4">

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
It happens all the time in my country. A bad translation can really ruin the book. It happens when there is a rush just before the book fair, or it happens with the publishers that sell bargains. Using modern phrases for classics and slangs from other languages instead of the official language is quite annoying. That's why I prefer reading the book in the original language if I speak the language. Or I buy books from the publishers that I trust, whose books are well translated.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<div align="LEFT" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Write about things you know, or if you don't know, learn. Don't write crap. Do your research. It happens a lot when authors from the western world write about Balkans. First, the names. You can't name a character with his or hers first name from one nation and the second name from another. There are names that are cosmopolitan, universal and are used everywhere, but there are also names that are specific and unique for certain nations. But there are minorities with a unique culture that do not mix with others from outside. When a character belongs to a certain nation and certain religion, please do check the most common names for that nation.</div>
<div align="LEFT" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Second, the scenes. If you are writing about firing from a gun, learn how to fire from a gun. You don't have to kill someone just to write a murdering scene. But talk to an expert, someone who works with police procedurals.</div>
<div align="LEFT" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="LEFT" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Authors, do not kill me for writing this post. But as an avid reader and blogger, I consider books as artworks. And I hate bad art. I am not talking about creativity here, each artwork is one of a kind. That's why there are so many genres of books, there is something for everyone out here. But I really think that some basic rules need to be followed in order your piece of art to stay a piece of art, and not become „just a crap“.</div>

Have you ever feared your own dreams?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Liddy Barron is afraid to sleep, afraid to work, afraid to walk in the public. Ever since her car accident a couple of months ago, her life is changed. With no memory of the night of the accident, she starts to see weird things. Works as an artist and suddenly the word HELP appears on her paintings. The main problem is when she is out in public, she sees a young woman walking towards her. Nothing unusual, you'll say, but the young woman is missing! And Liddy sees some things on her that no one else knows about. Is she losing her mind or some distant memory comes out on the surface?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Do you believe in ghosts?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">

<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Detective Kerrie Blasco works on the case of missing Sasha Perry. When Liddy goes to her with the very detailed sketch of the missing Sasha, she figures out that something more is going on here. She is definitely sure that Liddy knows more than she tells, so she turns her investigation in another direction.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Is Liddy just a witness or maybe a prime suspect?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Fear Dreams is a creepy and gripping story. You are never sure what is going on! Is it a paranormal mystery, or the creepiest mastermind murder that human mind can imagine? When the strange things started to appear, they made the hair on the back of my neck stand up, something that made me even more interested in finding out what was really going on.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">
Have you ever watched the movie Gothika with Hally Berry in the main role? I've found some similarities in the plots of the movie and this book. I loved the movie (besides the bad critics), loved its creepiness, and definitely loved this book. Unfortunately, I predicted who was the bad guy in the story and only that's why I am rating it with four stars, and not five. But I can't say that I didn't enjoy the story. Fear Dreams is an excellent read that you should definitely try.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm; text-align: justify;">

Some of them are set in modern times, some are authentical as much as possible. Many authors try to write in Artur Conan Doyle's style, but very few can do it successfully. I think that David Stuart Davies did a really good job here, including real facts to spice up a fictional story. </span></span>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif;">This time, the great detective and his companion are contacted by a desperate father whose son has been kidnapped. The father is rich, but he has no political influence or well-known enemies who would do such a horrible thing. Also, there is no call for ransom. Who has kidnapped the innocent child?</span></span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif;">The investigation leads Sherlock Holmes and D-r Watson far more than they expected. The kidnapping of the child is just the beginning of the bigger conspiracy. A conspiracy that can affect the throne and change the history of England. </span></span>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif;">While reading the book, I was little sceptical about certain things, like the use of the telephone. But after googling the history of the telephone in UK, I've found it quite plausible. Not sure that private homes had telephones at that time, but that didn't stop me enjoying the story. Also including Jack the Ripper in the story was a quite interesting moment. And, no, I won't reveal more.</span></span></div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: black;"><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , serif;">The Ripper Legacy is one new further adventure of the great detective Sherlock Holmes and his friend D-r Watson. Well-written, full of conspiracy theories and twists and turnovers, it captures your attention till the very last page. If you love mysteries and conspiracies, get ready for an adventure. Because reading this book is a real adventure.</span></span></div>

<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Hi, guys.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Today is my stop of the blog tour for M.J.Lee's new book. This is my third book from this author and quite different from the other two. It has mystery, it has a history in it, but also genealogy, a search for one man's ancestors. Perfect read for history lovers.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
The story starts with a murder of a British officer committed by the Irish soldiers. It continues with one soldier's conscience and his search for British officer's family. In those turbulent times when the Irish people are organizing an uprising against the British government, the soldiers on the battlefield are proving that they are only human beings, people with feelings and fears, people who love and hate.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
I am not very familiar with the Irish history. I know the basics, I know about the eternal fight between Irish and English people, but not familiar with the details. So the Irish Uprising was new information for me. It was quite interesting to read all those stories and all those history facts, seen from the view of the people who actually had to fight, not those sitting in the government's chairs. It reminded me of another uprising that happened in my country in 1903. We are so similar.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
The story continues at the present day when an American wants to find out his Irish biological parents. He hires Jayne Sinclair, former police detective, now a genealogical detective, to help him find his past. All he has is an old photograph from the time when he was sent on a boat to America from the orphanage in Ireland. What seems like a piece of cake at the beginning, turns into a life-threatening mission for the genealogy detective. Somebody doesn't like to wake up the dead.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
The Irish Inheritance is a well-written story. The author combined the two stories very well, one from the time of the Irish Uprising, the other from the present day. But, somehow, I had the feeling that the ending came too soon. With all the rush and chase I was expecting more at the end. Somehow, it ended too slowly for me. But that's just my opinion. Overall, it is a good book. Interesting, mysterious, full of history. It presents the real people behind the war, the real life of those who survived and those who didn't. You should definitely give it a try.</div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div align="JUSTIFY" style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
My opinion: 4 / 5.</div>

<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Ok, I have to admit! This girl who walked in the shadows really got under my skin. This is the third book of the series and I can't get enough of them. Georgina and Paul are such a dynamic duo in private life and on the crime scene, I absolutely love them with all their ons and offs.But, let me tell you something about the story....</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
A murder without a weapon. Can it be possible? Yes, if the weapon is made of ice, and the ice melts. One, two, three bodies appear, murder weapons made of ice. All the victims connected, children are involved. Are all these cases connected? Is this the work of a serial killer? The police give him a name, Jack Frost.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Georgina Mckenzie and Paul van der Bergen work on the case. Their investigations take them back in the past when two children disappeared from their backyard. Could the murders from the present be connected with the tragedy in the past? And how is killing child abusers bad thing?</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
McKenzie and van der Bergen are one hell of a duo. Their love relationship is going hot and cold all the time, and this time is HOT! But on the field, no serial killer can escape these two. One genius complements the other. These two are unstoppable.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
Ms. Marnie Riches gets even better with every next book. The crimes and crime scenes are getting better and better, more creepy and more complex to solve. And the main characters are more and more developed as the story continues. Written with a contagious writing style that keeps you on the edge till the very last page, all I can say is that this „girl“ is one hell of a woman.</div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;">
My opinion: 5 / 5</div>
